Audition Application

Participation in a production with Desert Theatreworks is a commitment. If a role/responsibility is offered to you, you can decline. If you accept our offer, we fully expect everyone to report to all rehearsal/call times promptly, act in a professional manner, and to take their commitment seriously. Failure to comply with these expectations will result in dismissal from the production.

Desert Theatreworks is a non-professional/community based theatre and those participating volunteer their time for personal and creative growth. Desert Theatreworks does not pay a salary to actors/crew. Desert Theatreworks will be implementing a gratuity sharing program to help castmembers with expenses.

General Information - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Thank you for taking the time to register for DTW's 2019-20 Season Auditions.

All auditions will take place at the INDIO PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (IPAC)
(45-175 FARGO ST. INDIO, CA 92201).

PREPARATION:

Plays - Please prepare one 60 second monologue (contemporary/age appropriate)

Musicals - If you are auditioning for a musical(s) prepare 16 to 32 bars of any song from the musical theatre genre.

Please bring a copy of the sheet music in your key with you for the accompanist. No performance tracks please. If you are auditioning for musicals and plays, please only prepare a song as you will be given sides to read for the plays.

SIDES: The directors will assign you sides to read or sing at the audition, you will be given some time to review them. Not all participants will be asked to read additional sides. Choosing your auditions: When completing the form: please make sure to check ALL/ANY shows you are available for. The more shows you check, the better your odds are for getting cast this season. Checking only one or two shows limits your casting opportunity.

HEAD SHOTS & RESUMES: There is a link provided in the form for you to upload a resume and/or a head shot is you wish.

PLEASE NOTE:
Callbacks will occur the same day as auditions. Prepare to stay for the entire audition process.
