WHAT TO PREPARE

PLAYS: Prepare one short (1 min) monologue that is in the same tone of the show you are auditioning for. You may use monologues or read scene from the specified play. You are allowed multiple submissions.

MUSICALS: Prepare 32 bars of from the show you are auditioning for. Please include a short dance video in the style of the show you are auditioning for. You are allowed multiple submissions.

COMMITMENT

At Desert TheatreWorks, we take commitment serisouly. If you plan on possibly dropping a DTW show for another conflicting performance opportunity, we respecfully ask you to not audition for a show you may have to drop. Dropping a committed show for another performance opportunity is extremely unprofessional and inconsidarate to the cast and crew and our 501c3 non-profit theatre company.

DTW does pay actors (age 18 and over) a per diem for performances.

REHEARSALS

The DTW Rehearsal Schedule:

Schedules will be based on entire cast availability, conflict calendars will be sent out 4-6 weeks before rehearsals commence. A final, itemized schedule will be sent out to all participants 2-4 weeks before first rehearsal.

Typical Rehearsal Schedule

Rehearsals are typically 6-8 weeks prior to opening.
Last two weeks of rehearsal are mandiotry.
Typical rehearsals are Sunday-Wednesdays from 6:30PM to 10PM
Additional rehearsal times will be scheduled if needed.
