UPC Link Registration Form

UPC Link is a tool designed for use by sellers and retail buyers of packaged produce items as they transition from using generic UPCs (those beginning with the prefix ‘033383’) to brand owner or company specific UPCs. The transition will enable retailers to tie product information to brand owners enabling them to improve category management, increase inventory accuracy and enhance traceability.  Refer to the section on the Universal Product Codes page entitled Transitioning from Generic to Company-Specific UPCs.

The UPC is a barcode used to encode a 12-digit GTIN (Global Trade Item Number). The UPC Link tool will allow sellers of produce to communicate their company specific UPCs and the corresponding generic UPCs being replaced to their buyers, and allow buyers to download the information into their Point-of-Sale systems. This tool is NOT designed for anything other than packaged produce which is presently labeled with a UPC. It is not to be used for item level or case level identification.
