Food

The participant number is for calculating food fees (which is $25 for Sat/Sun or $10 for Sun only. Includes light continental breakfast, light lunch both days, and, Sat only, pizza slice). There are meat eating and vegetarian options. Gluten free, Vegan, and Nut free are not options, sorry.
 
If you have a participant that can't eat the food (such as for allergies), just don't count that person and the participant will need to provide food for themself/your program will need to provide. Participants can skip the food fee only if they have an allergy/inability to eat our SU catered food or they will be in attendance for only for a short period and promise not to eat the food.

Request Fee Reductions if your program needs them.

Need is based on your program and your debaters having limited budgets. While there is no "set" definition of limited budget, we view it as one where your program pays for 4 or less tournaments during a year for team members wanting to go to tournaments and those team members lack the finances to pay for their own travel.

Please note that Seattle U also has a very limited budget. So we can provide only so much help to your program.

Most programs have no need and so do not need fee reductions.

For those with need, choose one of the two options that best matches your program's need.

NOTE: We do not provide judging fee discounts for the In-Person Tournament. You are responsible for providing judges regardless of financial need for the In-Person Tournament. This is because we really need more judges in-person and in-person judge hiring is expensive. We also do not provide food fee discounts as what we charge is what we are charged by our school.

Speaker/Debater Eligibility

Exceptions to any of the below require Jim Hanson's approval.

AGE MINIMUM: All speakers and debaters should be 16 years or older.

COMPETITION MAXIMUM: All speakers and debaters should not be in their 6th or more years of college speaking/debating at tournaments.
