U.S. Figure Skating is seeking qualified Coach I.C.E. members to serve on the 2025-26 Coaches Council, for terms of one, two, or three years. 
 
The Coaches Council includes 27 members who collectively reflect the broad experiences of the U.S. Figure Skating Coaching Community.  Experiences considered include coaching at various levels (Learn to Skate USA, developmental, qualifying, high-performance development, national and international), as well as various disciplines (singles, pairs, ice dance, and synchronized skating) and experience in various skating programs such as theatrical skating, adult skating, collegiate, solo dance, adaptive, etc. 
 
Basic Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, current members of U.S. Figure Skating and Coach I.C.E., and meet all coach compliance requirements. May not simultaneously serve on the Athletes Advisory Committee (AAC).
 
Preferred Requirements: Members must demonstrate a commitment to education and leadership in the coaching community. Examples of how this may be shown include (but are not limited to): Having held leadership roles with U.S. Figure Skating, or the PSA, serving on committees and/or working groups, and supporting education events/programs as a presenter or facilitator. Or, having been a skating director/leader/board member/volunteer at a local figure skating program, rink, or club. In addition, attendance at recent in-person events is considered. 
 
Overview of Responsibilities / Job Description: All members must be actively engaged participants in promoting coaches' education, support, development, and community. 
*Attend the annual Governing Council meeting and vote as a coach delegate (USFS covers travel expense)
*Attend regular monthly meetings via Zoom (at least 70% attendance)
*Attend at least one in-person seminar, activity or workshop annually (Own travel expense).
*Actively participate in discussions in Basecamp.
*Attend at least eight Coaches Studio webinars per season.
*Participate in at least one micro-team or working group project. 
*Serve as a resource for coaches in your area by networking and being available to other coaches at competitions, test sessions or other events.
*Participate in other projects and opportunities outlined in the Coaches Council Handbook.
