Athlete and Coach Registration
A majority of athletes will register in Greensboro on Sunday January 26th. There will be some athlete registrations and coach registrations on the morning of January 27th.
Process includes asking the skater their name, which squad they are assigned to, ask skater and parent (if skater is under 18) to sign-in, direct them to the medical table (if they have any medication we should know about) and point in the direction of where the locker rooms are and where they should meet their team at the beginning of camp.
Arena Signage and Decoration
Signage/decoration: Hang signs and decorations for the event.
A/V and Technology
Volunteer should be knowledgeable about computers, AUX chords, audio and setting up projectors? Be a presence at the arena in case something comes up and one of the instructors needs help.
Information and Credential checker
Volunteers will help atheltes and coaches find rooms within in the arena and will check to ensure all folks entering the facility have the proper credentials as this camp is closed to the general public.
Faculty and Coaches Hospitality
Assist U.S. Figure Skating staff with keeping the faculty room and coaches room neat, clean and stocked with items such as snacks, coffee, hot water, etc.
Volunteers will direct the caterer where to set-up the meals and stand behind the tables to serve athletes and/or insure the line is moving in an organized fashion. There are always athletes with food allergies who like to know where their special meal is. Volunteers will ask if any athletes have allergies and direct them to where they can pick up their food.
Volunteer will be stationed in the music box of the Main rink or Training rink and will assist on ice faculty instructors with plaing music during their classes. Music will also need assistance for the Junior World selection event and Dance event on Monday and Tuesday evening
Volunteer will be stationed in the front of the arena/hotel with the transportation schedule and communicate with drivers and help faculty and officials get in the correct vehicles while traveling to and from the arena.
Volunteer will drive a Toyota vehicle (from U.S. Figure Skating) to help transport officials and faculty to and from the venue
Volunteers will pick up & drop off groups of officials and faculty prior to the start of camp and on the last day of camp to Charlotte Douglas International Airport using a provided Toyota vehicle
