FOR SYNCHRONIZED SKATING SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS & the U.S. SYNCHRONIZED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Per Rule 2821: Requests for substitutions to the roster must be submitted on the official form to the Sectional Vice Chair of the Synchronized Skating Competitions Subcommittee. Substitutions to the roster may be permissible up to two weeks prior to the start of the next qualifying competition. The request must be in writing and must include the reason for the substitution, with proof of age, if applicable under Rule 2824 (skaters on juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior or senior teams.).
Please note Rules 9400 - 9530: All skaters on teams with a MITF minimum test requirement must have passed the applicable test by the entry deadline of October 1st, in order to be eligible to skate at that level.
Please also note Rule 2826: The crossover rules chart. Both the Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships & the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships are part of the same qualifying system. Athletes that were on the roster for a Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships may not be substituted onto a team where crossovers are not allowed for the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships.
(For example, a skater that was on an open juvenile team at sectionals, is not eligible to be substituted onto the roster of an intermediate team to compete at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, since open juvenile and intermediate are not allowed crossover skaters. However, a skater that was on an intermediate team, is eligible to be substituted onto another qualifying level team, such as novice, since those levels were always allowed to crossover.)
