U.S. Figure Skating and the Professional Skaters Association (PSA) are pleased to announce the 2020 U.S. Figure Skating Dance Camp and Coaches Track with information dedicated to helping coaches develop their skills as a competitive dance coach. PSA members will receive upto 8 credits for attending.The curriculum of the Dance Camp is focused towards coaches that are currently teaching couples intending to compete at the Sectional level, or hope to do so shortly.
Dance Camp Coaches Track Overview:
The coaches track will be lead by PSA represenatives. It will feature a variety of learning opportunities, including:
* Observation of athletes' on-ice classes (skating skills, key points, edges & turns, etc.)
* Observation of key athletes' off-ice classes
* Lecture classes by World and International officials
* Guided discussion groups, led by PSA representatives following on-ice discussion
* Coaches-only on-ice class
* All coaches accompanying athletes will be expected to attend their students' one-on-one monitoring session. All other monitoring sessions will be closed to coaches.

This event is held in conjunction with the Chesapeake Open Competition. Below is a tentative schedule of camp and competition events. Competion events are in red, Camp events are in blue:
Thursday, June 25:
Juvenile, Intermediate & Novice Pattern Dance, Junior & Senior Short Dance competition
Friday afternoon/evening, June 26:
All Free Dance competition events
Camp registration (camp activities will start after the last competition event concludes)
Off-ice classroom sessions at the DoubleTree by Hilton
Saturday, June 27:
Dance Camp on and off-ice activities for all levels; approximately 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Team USA Summer Camp for athletes named to the International Selection Pool (ISP)
Coaches Track classes
Sunday, June 28:
Dance Camp on and off-ice activites for all levels, approximately 7:00am - 5:00pm.
ALL teams will receive a one-on-one monitoring session with national and higher level officials. Juvenile & intermediate teams will receive approximately 30 minutes on their Free Dance. Novice, Junior and Senior sessions will receive approximately 50-60 minutes. ISP teams will receive additional time during the Team USA summer camp.
*This fee includes camp registration for both athletes. Athletes will receive lunch and a work-out/perforamce shirt. Coaches' track registration is seperate. Coaches must register on their own and pay a registration fee. Registration for the Chesapeake Open is separate, as well.
COACHES TRACK REGISTRATION FEE: $199.00 per coach.
PSA Members will receive a maximum of 8 credits for attending.
