The annual Sister Seraphim Gibbons Undergraduate Symposium showcases the research and creative work of undergraduate students in all academic disciplines. Although students no longer submit abstracts with their application, we ask students to get approval from their faculty advisor/mentor/professor prior to registering. This way, faculty members working with students (collaborating on a project, teaching the course in which they are doing the project) determine if the student work is ready for submission. All projects that have been approved by a faculty member will be accepted for presentation and published in the Sr. Seraphim Gibbons program, which lists the project title, student and faculty names, and department and/or discipline.
Registration is essential so we can plan space for posters and presentations, the program, and of course the food! After the event, if faculty advisors/mentors and students would like their abstracts and/or posters (in a PowerPoint file) to be published in Sophia, they can pursue this option independently. As always, we will provide financial support for poster printing – requests will be part of the registration process.
