Which program do I qualify for?
1. Viridiant’s Walk-Through Audit with Utility Rebate starts with a visual inspection that covers the whole house, from basements and crawlspaces to utility rooms and attics. Clients will receive a custom report listing and prioritizing recommendations – from zero- and low-cost quick fixes to planning for major upgrades. This report is designed to be a comprehensive tool to help you improve your home, from zero- and low-cost fixes all the way to a pathway to net-zero energy. While on site, Viridiant staff will install products paid for by the HEA rebate, so the HEA eligibility criteria noted above apply. You get quite a lot of no-pressure, professional expertise for just $65. The additional diagnostic services are available for this option.
- The utility rebate is Dominion Energy’s “Residential Home Energy Assessment” (RHEA), which is available to single-family detached and attached homes (townhomes, rowhomes, duplexes) with Dominion electric service that have not previously had this rebate or its predecessor, the “Home Energy Checkup” (HEC). Owners and renters qualify. We will require your Dominion account number and the signature of the account holder to complete the rebate application. If you would like to confirm your eligibility, call Andrew Grigsby at 804-252-1486 or send your street address and the Dominion account holder’s last name to firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. The Walk-Through Audit without Utility Rebate
is the option for homes that are either outside of Dominion territory, have already had the HEC or RHEA (by either you or a previous owner), or don’t qualify as single family (such as an apartment or condo). This service includes the utility bill analysis and Viridiant’s custom energy audit report as described above. The additional diagnostic services are available as well. In short, you get everything but the products that come with the Dominion RHEA.
As required by Virginia law, all of Viridiant’s home energy assessments are performed by staff who carry the Residential Building Energy Analyst license. This ensures a whole-home, multi-technology approach rather than the perspective of a tradesperson trained only in one aspect of building performance.
