NEW THIS YEAR - S.T.A.R.S Program taking place in conjunction with DREAM Camp
For the first time, the S.T.A.R.S. Program is being offered to all DREAM Camp participants at a discounted rate. S.T.A.R.S. (Standardized testing of Athleticism to Recognize Skaters) is a one-day event consisting of 15 off-ice tests (called a “Combine”) meant to evaluate developing athletes in three areas: 1) Agility, Balance, and Coordination; 2) Strength and Power; 3) Flexibility. Athletes who participate receive a raw score for each test on the day of the combine that compares them to their peers by skating level. This is a very valuable test to evaluate areas where skaters are excelling, and areas where improvement can be made. This is a great tool for skaters, and coaches to use to improve skills on the ice. Skaters attending both the DREAM Camp and S.T.A.R.S. Combine will recieve a $10 discount on the S.T.A.R.S. Program.
Running Time: Sunday, July 14, 2013 8:00am - 5:00pm* Vernon Hills, Illinois
Cost: $39 (discounted from $49) - This includes assesment, personalized results report (deliverd online post-combine season), a S.T.A.R.S. T-shirt and a seminar on training, overtraining and recovery.
*Skaters will be assigned a time slot for their testing approximatley 4 weeks prior to the S.T.A.R.S. Combine date. Each skater should allow 1-2 hours from their testing time to complete the combine.
